Bryzgalov makes debut, Flyers lose 4-2

September 22, 2011

Ilya Bryzgalov made his first appearance as Flyer last night at the Wells Fargo Center.  He had a bit of a rough start allowing three goals to Toronto's Juraj Mikus, Matt Frattin and Joe Colborne.

Tomas Hyka and Erik Gustafsson scored the Flyer's only two goals last night.

Both teams showed tension between each other last night. Jody Shelley hit the Maple Leaf's Darryl Boyce from behind in to the boards. Shelley received a five minute major for boarding.

Toronto's Jay Rosehill fought Shelley immediately after the hit. Both players were given five minute majors. Shelley left the game for game misconduct.

Rosehill did return to the game in the third, but received a 10 minute misconduct penalty for fighting with Scott Hartnell.

The Flyers are now headed to London, Ontario to play the Red Wings tonight.
