The Flyers found themselves down 3-0 early, and it looked like the Penguins were going to escape with the win. But the Flyers are no strangers to comebacks.

Danny Briere scored two huge goals that put the Flyers back in the game. After missing the last few games of the regular season, Briere came back and easily continued his playoff success.

Brayden Schenn shined in his first playoff game. Schenn made some huge hits, and deflected in his first playoff goal, the one that tied the game up at 3.

In overtime, Jakub Voracek got the rebound on a shot that was thrown on net, and put it in to give the Flyers the win in game one, by a final of 4-3.

In the first period, the Flyers were very shaky.

Pittsburgh's Sideny Crosby (1, 3:43), Tyler Kennedy (1, 7:49), and Pascal Dupuis (1, 19:23) each scored to take a 3-0 lead.

Ilya Bryzgalov had a rough start in the first period.

The Penguins took 13 shots in the first that Bryzgalov could only save 10 of.

However, power shifted in the second period.

Bryzgalov did not let another shot get by him, saving all 15 of the Penguin's shots from the second period on. He made a total of 25 saves in 28 shots.

Danny Briere, who has great success in the playoffs, put the Flyers back in the game when he scored a breakaway goal to make it 3-1 (1, 6:22).

Briere scored the only goal of the second.

In the third, Briere struck again with another goal (2, 9:17) to make cut the Penguins lead down to just one.

Later in the third, Scott Hartnell was at the end of his shift. So, Hartnell threw a quick shot on the net before heading to the bench, and Brayden Schenn was there to deflect it in.

Schenn's first playoff goal (1, 12:23) came on the power play, and tied the game up.

The Flyers had all the momentum now, but Pittsburgh goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury was able to keep the score tied for the rest of regulation.

Fleury made 22 saves overall on Wednesday night. The Flyers took 26 shots total.

Once again, the Flyers were going to overtime. This time, it did not take long.

Two minutes in, Matt Carle took a shot on net, and Jakub Voracek was there for the rebound.

Voracek scored his first playoff goal (1, 2:23), the Flyers won, and they took the 1-0 series lead.

Game two is Friday night at 7:30 PM ET.
