Game 4: "We don't like you either!"

April 18, 2012

The Flyers won game three 8-4, and let the Penguins self-destruct out of frustration.

The Flyers no have a 3-0 lead in the series, and the Penguins are in a hole that they have not been in in a long time.

It did not seem like the Flyers had this much of a grip on the series at the start, than it does now.

Pittsburgh was a Cup favorite, while the Flyers were viewed as a team that was too young to go anywhere yet.

Wow! That all changed in a matter of seven days.

The Penguins took a 3-0 lead in the first period of game one, and the Flyers fought back and won 4-3 in overtime.

In game two, the Penguins took a 3-1 lead in the first. But the Flyers proved that the comeback was no fluke. Sean Couturier had a hat-trick in only his second career playoff game, and Claude Giroux accompanied him with a hat-trick as well. The Flyers won 8-5.

The series finally made its way to Philadelphia in game three, and the Flyers, down 1-0 early, took the lead and never let go.

The Penguins got frustrated and started doing anything they could to get something going. The route they took was starting fights.

Sidney Crosby started a lot of fights and scraps, but did not finish anything he started, doing nothing to spark  his team. This sparked heavy criticism from the national media, and even the Penguin's own fans, who were reported to be ashamed of the way their team has acted.

Game three was on Sunday. Both teams have now had two days rest, but suspensions have been handed out to the Penguins for actions taken during Sunday's game.

They will be without James Neal and Arron Asham. Not having Neal significantly hurts the Penguins, because he was a 40-goal scorer this season, and was a source of production due to Malkin being completely shutdown by rookie Sean Couturier.

Tonight the Flyers have the opportunity to win the series.

Their keys to winning are simple: Play the same way you did the first three games, and come out firing.

Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury has been a complete train wreck in goal, allowing 17 goals to the Flyers before being pulled in game three.

Fleury will be starting tonight, so the Flyers have another chance to take full advantage of his struggles.

Ilya Bryzgalov has allowed three, five, and four goals in games one through three respectively, but the difference is that Bryzgalov has made the crucial saves he has needed to make. The ones that shifted the momentum of games.

The Flyers can end this series tonight, as for the Penguins, I got one thing to say.

"WHATCHA GONNA DO WHEN FLYERSMANIA RUNS WILD ON YOU!"
