Howe's 2 will be retired

November 19, 2011

According to CSNPhilly.com's Tim Panaccio, Mark Howe's number 2 will be retired by the Flyers before their March 6 home game against the Detroit Red Wings.

During Howe's induction into the Hockey Hall of Fame, chairman Ed Snider said that Howe should have his number retired. After all, the defenseman played 10 years in Philadelphia, and is thought of by many as one of the best in Flyer's history.

Now it is official, Howe's number will be retired, and hang in the rafters of the Wells Fargo Center with the numbers of the other Flyer's hall of famers.
